How does the Art, Rhythm and Movement in the Waldorf Curriculum help children with challenges ? A talk on developmental /pedagogic methodologies for teachers, parents and educators.

Workshop - 1  - only on the 5th Jan 2014:

Physiology of Rhythm and Movement and working with it in class room situation. Brief description of Rhythm and Beat in human physiology and musculoskeletal skeletal system. A comprehensive overview of the developmental stages of a young child between 4 and 14 years old and practical methodologies for class room activities based on this knowledge of physiological growth.



Jacob Carr

Workshop - 1 :
In teaching Art,Jacob would be leading his group through a grade specific artistic activity beginning with wet-on-wet watercolour (classes 1-4), coloured pencil techniques (class 5), charcoal drawing (class 6) and wet-on-dry watercolour potraiture and/or work with chalk pastels. 

Workshop - 2 :
In Music in the Classroom, Jacob would focus on how to use music in the classroom as a community building tool where the focus is more on enjoying the process and less on perfection of the musical piece. 

Workshop - 3 :
In his sessions on "Integrating drama............" Jacob would teach Dramatic Play and Theater Games appropriate for grades 3-7 and how to use these during Main Lesson.

Workshop 1:
Story telling - the art form at the very heart of the Waldorf School class teacher’s vocation. In this workshop we will explore the what, when, why and how of storytelling throughout the primary school years.  

 Workshop 2:
Geography and History - workshop participants will grapple with some of the big questions that arise in the teaching of Geography and History main lesson blocks.  

Workshop 3:

Nature Study and Science - where do we begin, what is our approach and method, how far do we go? During this workshop participants will focus on key elements and topics of science in the class 1 - 7 curriculum.

The three planes and six directions of space. What are their qualities and how do children learn to master them.

Workshop 1 :
An introduction to the movement curriculum including children’s games and play classes 1 - 7 and what is Bothmer Gymnastics?

Workshop 2:
A detailed look at the movement curriculum classes 1-7. What activities and why? A deeper insight into Bothmer Gymnastics.

Workshop 3:
Games and play through the classes 1 - 7
